Where to find free Kakuro printables
The KakuroZen website has a printable page with free puzzle packs updated every week. Each pack includes four puzzles at one difficulty level, printed with solutions on the back. Download the PDF, print it on standard letter paper, and you are ready to go.
What difficulty should I start with?
If you have never solved a Kakuro before, start with the Easy pack. Easy grids are small (4x4 to 6x6) with low sum targets. Most beginners can finish an easy puzzle in 5 to 10 minutes. Once easy feels comfortable, move to Medium. Medium grids are 6x6 to 9x9 and take 10 to 20 minutes. Hard grids are for experienced solvers and can take 30 minutes or more.
Tips for solving on paper
Use a pencil with a good eraser. Write your candidate digits small in the corner of each cell. Work in pencil marks first, then fill in confirmed digits with confidence. Some solvers use a fine-point mechanical pencil (0.5mm) for clean marks that are easy to erase.
Keep a combinations cheat sheet nearby for your first few puzzles. You can print one from the rules page on this site. Within a few weeks, you will have the common combinations memorized and the cheat sheet will collect dust.
Printing tips
Print in black and white. The puzzles are designed for monochrome printing. Use standard letter paper (8.5 x 11 inches) or A4. Set your printer to “actual size” rather than “fit to page” to keep the grid cells at the right scale. If you want to re-solve the same puzzle, print extra copies.
Want more than four puzzles per week?
The free printable packs give you 12 puzzles per week (4 each at Easy, Medium, and Hard). If you want hundreds at once, the KakuroZen books on Amazon have 300 to 500 puzzles each. Or download the app for unlimited digital puzzles.
